Sheryl was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2016 after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since the commencement of her legal career, Sheryl has acted for and advised clients in an array of commercial disputes, including general contractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, employment disputes and tortious claims. She has also acted for creditors in compulsory liquidations and a Scheme of Arrangement.
Sheryl’s recent focus has been on construction and engineering disputes. In this connection, she is well versed in the statutory adjudication process under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act (Cap 30B), having acted for both claimants and respondents in several adjudications. In addition, Sheryl has assisted with high-value institutional arbitrations held under the auspices of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and International Chamber of Commerce. Although contentious matters make up the bulk of her portfolio, Sheryl is also familiar with front-end work such as reviewing and drafting construction contracts.
Apart from commercial matters, Sheryl also has experience in dealing with matrimonial disputes and criminal proceedings.
